1.2relating to lobbyists; prohibiting former legislators, constitutional officers,
1.3agency heads, and certain legislative employees from lobbying for legislative or
1.4administrative action for one year after leaving office;proposing coding for new
1.5law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 10A.
1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.7 Section 1. [10A.035] LOBBYING RESTRICTION.
1.8An individual may not attempt to influence legislative or administrative action as a
1.9lobbyist for one year after leaving one of the following offices:
1.10(1) member of the legislature;
1.11(2) constitutional officer;
1.12(3) commissioner, deputy commissioner, or head of any state department or agency;
1.13(4) legislative caucus leadership staff;
1.14(5) legislative committee administrator; or
1.15(6) researcher, legislative analyst, or attorney in House Research or the Office of
1.16Senate Counsel, Research and Fiscal Analysis.
