1.4amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, sections 169.99, subdivision 1b; 171.12,
1.5subdivision 6.
1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 169.99, subdivision 1b, is amended to read:
1.8 Subd. 1b. Speed. The uniform traffic ticket must provide a blank or space wherein
1.9an officer who issues a citation for a violation of a speed limit of 55 or 60 miles per
1.10hour must specify whether the speed was greater than ten miles per hour in excess ofa
1.1155 miles per hour speed limit, or more than five miles per hour in excess of a 60 miles
1.12per hour the speed limit.
1.13 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 171.12, subdivision 6, is amended to read:
1.14 Subd. 6. Certain convictions not recorded. (a) Except as provided in paragraph
1.15(b), the department shall not keep on the record of a driver any conviction for a violation
1.16of a speed limit of 55 or 60 miles per hour unless the violation consisted of a speed greater
1.17than ten miles per hour in excess ofa 55 miles per hour the speed limit, or more than five
1.18miles per hour in excess of a 60 miles per hour speed limit.
1.19(b) This subdivision does not apply to (1) a violation that occurs in a commercial
1.20motor vehicle, or (2) a violation committed by a holder of a class A, B, or C commercial
1.21driver's license, without regard to whether the violation was committed in a commercial
1.22motor vehicle or another vehicle.
