1.2relating to capital investment; appropriating money to design and construct
1.3bicycle and pedestrian facilities along 26th Avenue North in Minneapolis;
1.4authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. MINNEAPOLIS PARK AND RECREATION BOARD; 26TH AVENUE
1.7NORTH.
1.8 Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $1,500,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.9fund to the Metropolitan Council for a grant to the Minneapolis Park and Recreation
1.10Board to design the conversion of a large portion of the right-of-way for 26th Avenue
1.11North between Lyndale Avenue North and the Mississippi River to a pedestrian and
1.12bicycle trail connection from the Grand Rounds trails to the connector trails in the new
1.13regional park running along both sides of the Mississippi River from trails into downtown
1.14Minneapolis to trails in the northern suburbs and to planned trails running east to trails in
1.15Ramsey County, and to design, engineer, and construct a pilot project within the corridor
1.16from 2nd Street North to the Mississippi.
1.17 Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the
1.18bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.19bonds of the state in an amount up to $1,500,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.20the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.21Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.22EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
