1.2relating to public employment; requiring written request for dues check off;
1.3amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 179A.06, subdivision 6.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 179A.06, subdivision 6, is amended to
1.6read:
1.7 Subd. 6. Dues check off. Public employees have the right to request and be
1.8allowed dues check off for the exclusive representative. In the absence of an exclusive
1.9representative, public employees have the right to request and be allowed dues check
1.10off for the organization of their choice. A dues check off under this subdivision for
1.11contributions to foundations, political action committees, or publications must be
1.12requested by the employee in writing.
