1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.6(a) $4,500,000 in fiscal year 2014 and $4,500,000 in fiscal year 2015 are
1.7appropriated from the workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment
1.8and economic development for grants to fund youth workforce employment programs.
1.9From this amount, the commissioner shall distribute the following grants:
1.10(1) $1,250,000 each year is for the youth workforce development competitive grant
1.11program;
1.12(2) $162,500 each year is for the South Central Workforce Council/Minnesota
1.13Valley Action Council;
1.14(3) $162,500 each year is for the Northeast Minnesota Office of Job Training;
1.15(4) $450,000 each year is for the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities;
1.16(5) $675,000 each year is for the city of St. Paul for the Parks and Recreation Youth
1.17Job Corps;
1.18(6) $1,020,000 each year is for the Minneapolis Step Up youth employment program;
1.19(7) $360,000 each year is for the Minneapolis Learn to Earn/Teen Teamworks
1.20program; and
1.21(8) $420,000 each year is for the Project Vector program in Intermediate School
1.22District No. 287.
1.23(b) The commissioner shall establish criteria for awarding the grants in paragraph (a).
1.24This appropriation is available in either year of the biennium and is available until spent.
