1.2relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money to the Minneapolis
1.3Television Network.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.6$315,000 in fiscal year 2014 and $65,000 in fiscal year 2015 are appropriated from
1.7the arts and cultural heritage fund to the Department of Administration for a grant to the
1.8Minneapolis Television Network for the following purposes:
1.9(1) $45,000 in fiscal year 2014 and $45,000 in fiscal year 2015 are for the VOICES
1.10Multiplied program, an experiential-based media literacy initiative for youth;
1.11(2) $20,000 in fiscal year 2014 and $20,000 in fiscal year 2015 are for the Open Eye
1.12MN program, a citizen-journalism initiative that engages members of Minnesota's diverse
1.13communities to go beyond mainstream media representations; and
1.14(3) $250,000 in fiscal year 2014 is to design, develop, and purchase a Twin Cities
1.15Media Center in partnership with the Independent Filmmaker Project Minnesota.
