1.2relating to agriculture; providing for study of a farmstay program; requiring

1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. FARMSTAY PROGRAM STUDY.
1.6The commissioner of administration shall establish a task force to study and propose
1.7legislation for a Minnesota farmstay program. The commissioner or a designee shall
1.8chair the task force which must include representatives of the Minnesota Institute for
1.9Sustainable Agriculture, Renewing the Countryside, and other interested parties. By
1.10January 15, 2013, the task force shall prepare a report to the chairs and ranking minority
1.11members of the house of representatives and senate committees having jurisdiction over
1.12agriculture policy and finance. The report must contain specific recommendations for a
1.13farmstay program and proposed legislation necessary for establishment of the program.
1.14EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
