1.4regional service center and learning institute; authorizing the sale and issuance of
1.5state bonds.
1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.7 Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.8$2,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner
1.9of human services for a grant to the city of Maplewood to design, renovate, and equip
1.10Harriet Tubman Center East to be used as a regional safety service center for domestic
1.11violence shelter, legal services, youth programs, mental and chemical health services,
1.12and community education.
1.13 Sec. 2. BOND SALE.
1.14To provide the money appropriated in section 1 from the bond proceeds fund, the
1.15commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an
1.16amount up to $2,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by
1.17Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution,
1.18article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.19 Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.
1.20Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final enactment.
