1.2relating to veterans; establishing a veterans home in Fillmore County; proposing
1.3coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 198.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. [198.365] VETERANS HOME; FILLMORE COUNTY.
1.6 Subdivision 1. Establishment. The commissioner shall establish a veterans home in
1.7Fillmore County to provide at least 70 beds for skilled nursing care in conformance with
1.8licensing rules of the Department of Health.
1.9 Subd. 2. Funding. The home must be purchased or built with funds, 65 percent
1.10of which must be provided by the federal government, and 35 percent by other nonstate
1.11sources, including local units of government, veterans' organizations, and corporations
1.12or other business entities.
1.13 Subd. 3. Support services. Upon request, the Department of Human Services shall
1.14arrange for the extension of support services to the veterans home in Fillmore County
1.15including, but not limited to, the provision of utilities, and kitchen and laundry services.
