1.2relating to state lands; providing for private sale of certain tax-forfeited lands
1.3in Itasca County.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LANDS; ITASCA COUNTY.
1.6(a) Notwithstanding the public sale provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter
1.7282, Itasca County may sell by private sale to the adjoining landowner the tax-forfeited
1.8lands that are described in paragraph (c), under the remaining provisions of Minnesota
1.9Statutes, chapter 282.
1.10(b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the attorney general. The
1.11attorney general may make necessary changes to the legal description to correct errors and
1.12ensure accuracy. The purchaser must provide a certified survey of the parcel to be sold
1.13that is acceptable to Itasca County and must pay all survey and appraisal costs.
1.14(c) The land to be sold is in Itasca County and is described as:
1.15(1) a parcel of land situated in Government Lot 7, Section 14, Township 54 North,
1.16Range 27 West, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the southeast
1.17corner of said Government Lot 7; thence North 01 degrees 06 minutes 20 seconds West,
1.18bearing assigned along the east line of said Government Lot 7, a distance of 975.45
1.19feet to the point of beginning; thence North 59 degrees 29 minutes 01 seconds West
1.20120.07 feet more or less to intersect a line that is 100.00 feet westerly of the east line
1.21of said Government Lot 7; thence North 01 degrees 06 minutes 20 seconds West on a
1.22line 100.00 feet westerly of the east line of said Government Lot 7, a distance of 50.41
1.23feet; thence North 23 degrees 18 minutes 59 seconds East 241.87 feet more or less to
1.24a 2-1/2 inch aluminum cap affixed to a 5/8 inch by 2-foot rebar along the east line of
2.1said Government Lot 7; thence South 01 degrees 06 minutes 20 seconds East along the
2.2east line of said Government Lot 7, a distance of 332.21 feet to the point of beginning
2.3and there terminate; and
2.4(2) the South 15 feet of the East 100 feet of the West 460 feet of the Northeast
2.5Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, Section 10, Township 61 North, Range 23 West.
2.6(d) The county has determined that the county's land management interests would be
2.7best served if the lands were returned to private ownership.
2.8EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
