1.3High School in Alexandria; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL AND SURROUNDING PROPERTY;
1.6ALEXANDRIA.
1.7 Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $4,600,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.8fund to the commissioner of economic development for a grant to the Lakes Area Economic
1.9Development Authority to acquire 44.15 acres in Alexandria, including Jefferson High
1.10School and surrounding properties, to demolish Jefferson High School and other buildings,
1.11to prepare the site, and for predesign, design, and construction of storm water infrastructure.
1.12 Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond
1.13proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
1.14the state in an amount up to $4,600,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
1.15prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
1.16Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.17EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
