1.2relating to environment; appropriating money for a study of plastic microbeads

1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; PLASTIC MICROBEAD STUDY.
1.6$....... is appropriated from the clean water fund in fiscal year 2015 to the
1.7commissioner of the Pollution Control Agency to identify polyethylene and other
1.8plastic microbeads in the state's surface waters and, in consultation with the University
1.9of Minnesota, to study their impact on aquatic ecosystems and human health. The
1.10commissioner must examine water samples collected as part of the agency's ongoing
1.11assessment of surface water impairment. No later than January 15, 2016, the commissioner
1.12must present the agency's findings to the legislative committees with jurisdiction over
1.13environment and natural resources policy and finance.
