1.2relating to corrections; appropriating funds for additional correctional workers.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS; ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEES;
1.5APPROPRIATION.
1.6(a) $....... is appropriated to the commissioner of corrections from the general fund
1.7for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015, for additional staff in facilities operated by the
1.8commissioner.
1.9(b) The commissioner must use this appropriation to hire:
1.10(1) 26 additional correctional officers and two additional office administrative
1.11specialists at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater;
1.12(2) four additional correctional officers and one additional general maintenance
1.13worker at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Lino Lakes;
1.14(3) three additional correctional officers and two additional licensed nurse
1.15practitioners at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Shakopee;
1.16(4) five additional correctional officers at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Oak
1.17Park Heights;
1.18(5) nine additional correctional officers at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Rush
1.19City;
1.20(6) five additional correctional officers and two additional office administrative
1.21specialists at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Faribault; and
1.22(7) eight additional correctional officers, three additional general repair workers,
1.23and two additional office administrative specialists at the Minnesota Correctional
1.24Facility-Moose Lake.
2.1(c) The positions specified in paragraph (b) are new positions intended to supplement
2.2current staffing levels at the designated facilities.
