1.2relating to game and fish; requiring closure of federally recognized Indian

1.4providing exceptions;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 97B.647,

1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 97B.647, subdivision 3, is amended to read:
1.8 Subd. 3. Open areas. (a) The commissioner may by rule designate areas where
1.9wolves may be taken.
1.10(b) Notwithstanding paragraph (a), if requested by tribal leadership, the
1.11commissioner shall close the exterior boundaries of federally recognized Indian
1.12reservations to hunting and trapping wolves, except for hunting and trapping by private
1.13landowners within the exterior boundaries and the landowners' immediate family members.
