1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 124D.111, subdivision 1, is amended to
1.7read:
1.8 Subdivision 1. School lunch aid computation. (a) Each school year, the state
1.9must pay participants in the national school lunch program the amount of 12 cents for
1.10each full paid, reduced, and free student lunch served to students, and 52 cents for each
1.11reduced-price lunch.
1.12(b) A school that receives school lunch aid under this section must make lunch
1.13available without charge to all participating students who qualify for free or reduced-price
1.14meals.
1.15EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2013.
1.16 Sec. 2. APPROPRIATIONS.
1.17 Subdivision 1. Department of Education. The sums indicated in this section are
1.18appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education for the fiscal years
1.19designated.
1.20 Subd. 2. School lunch aid. For school lunch aid under Minnesota Statutes, section
1.21124D.111, and Code of Federal Regulations, title 7, section 210.17:
