1.2relating to public safety; requiring sheriffs to report injuries to jailers to the
1.3Bureau of Criminal Apprehension;proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
1.4Statutes, chapter 641.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. [641.055] REPORTS OF JAILER INJURIES.
1.7A sheriff shall furnish to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension a report for each
1.8incident that results in a job-related injury to a correctional guard employed by the sheriff.
1.9By February 1 of each even-numbered year, the commissioner of public safety shall report
1.10to the chairs and ranking minority members of legislative committees with oversight
1.11authority over local correctional facilities a summary of information received from sheriffs
1.12under this section for the two-year period ending the prior December 31.
