1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 326B.475, subdivision 4, is amended to
1.6read:
1.7 Subd. 4. Renewal; use period for license. (a) A restricted master plumber and
1.8restricted journeyman plumber license must be renewed for as long as that licensee
1.9engages in the plumbing trade. Notwithstanding section326B.094 , failure to renew a
1.10restricted master plumber and restricted journeyman plumber license within12 months
1.11two years after the expiration date will result in permanent forfeiture of the restricted
1.12master plumber and restricted journeyman plumber license.
1.13(b) The commissioner shall in a manner determined by the commissioner, without
1.14the need for any rulemaking under chapter 14, phase in the renewal of restricted master
1.15plumber and restricted journeyman plumber licenses from one year to two years. By
1.16June 30, 2011, all restricted master plumber and restricted journeyman plumber licenses
1.17shall be two-year licenses.
1.18EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective retroactively from October 1, 2008.
