1.1A Senate resolution
1.2commending Danna Elling Schultz for over 25 years of service with the
1.3Minnesota State Senate.
1.4WHEREAS, Danna served three years with the Minnesota House of Representatives before
1.5her role as a caucus researcher for the Minnesota State Senate, where she began working in 1996;
1.6and
1.7WHEREAS, her primary area of focus as caucus researcher was education. Through her
1.8many years of service, Danna learned the nuances of education funding and became a consistent
1.9advocate for policies that support educators and students; and
1.10WHEREAS, Danna has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota
1.11and worked as a reporter in Northfield and at St. Olaf College before her career with the senate;
1.12and
1.13WHEREAS, during her time working for the senate, Danna was a proud member of "The
1.14Cars," a group of women who walked the Capitol tunnels during their lunch breaks. Danna always
1.15came to work with a smile on her face and she will be missed by her colleagues for her positive
1.16attitude; and
1.17WHEREAS, Danna has worked for the senate through new majority and minority leaders,
1.18changes in party control, and new Education Committee chairs. Her ability to build quality, effective,
1.19working relationships with people inside and outside of the Capitol allowed her to excel during
1.20every phase of her employment; and
1.21NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.22commends Danna Elling Schultz for over 25 years of service and extends appreciation for her
1.23contributions to legislative work.
1.24BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.25enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.26Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Danna Elling Schultz.
