1.1A Senate resolution
1.2celebrating the 60th anniversary of WACOSA.
1.3WHEREAS, for 60 years, WACOSA has provided vital services for adults with disabilities,
1.4building a circle of support that empowers individuals to develop skills, explore and pursue
1.5employment, and foster community connections from graduation through retirement throughout
1.6the Central Minnesota region; and
1.7WHEREAS, when people with disabilities are included, the whole community benefits.
1.8WACOSA's employment supports and community activities benefit all Central Minnesota residents,
1.9businesses, and organizations; and
1.10WHEREAS, WACOSA provides services to over 650 people with physical, cognitive, and
1.11mental health disabilities, offering person-centered positive support; and
1.12WHEREAS, WACOSA is a Central Minnesota leader in adopting groundbreaking
1.13technologies to support individuals with disabilities; and
1.14WHEREAS, WACOSA continues to innovate and improve services in alignment with their
1.15mission to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to work and live in their community
1.16and in pursuit of their vision that individuals of all abilities are empowered to reach their full
1.17potential; and
1.18NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.19celebrates the 60th anniversary of WACOSA and thanks WACOSA for many years of outstanding
1.20service to the people of Central Minnesota.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.22enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.23Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to WACOSA.
