1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing Morgan O'Brien for being named a 2016 Dodge County Dairy
1.3Princess.
1.4WHEREAS, Minnesota has a rich tradition in agriculture, which continues to comprise a
1.5large portion of our state's economy and culture; and
1.6WHEREAS, our state's dairy industry is a crucial component of Minnesota agriculture;
1.7dairy is one of the principal drivers of the rural economy, providing income and nutrition to
1.8our fellow Minnesotans; and
1.9WHEREAS, organizing the annual banquet and naming the Dairy Princess is one of the
1.10major responsibilities of the Dodge County American Dairy Association Board of Directors; and
1.11WHEREAS, in the coming months, those named Dairy Princess in Dodge County will
1.12be involved in a variety of activities, including visiting schools, June Dairy Month events, and
1.13parades throughout the summer; and
1.14WHEREAS, Morgan O'Brien is one of three young Dodge County women sharing the title
1.15of Dodge County Dairy Princess for 2016, a tremendous honor deserving of special legislative
1.16recognition; she was crowned at the annual dairy banquet held at the Milton Township Hall; and
1.17NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota
1.18that it congratulates Morgan O'Brien on being named a 2016 Dodge County Dairy Princess,
1.19and extends best wishes to her for the future.
1.20BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.21enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.22Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Morgan O'Brien.
