1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Miles Klotz of Zumbrota on being named to the All-State Band.
1.3WHEREAS, the All-State Band program is sponsored by the Minnesota Music Educators
1.4Association (MMEA) to develop the finest musicians and leaders among Minnesota's most
1.5accomplished high school students; and
1.6WHEREAS, the All-State program supports secondary school music ensembles, MMEA
1.7members, and members' students; and
1.8WHEREAS, each All-State Band audition includes:
1.9• playing all scales in succession, in a single continuous take, at the articulation and tempo
1.10indicated;
1.11• performing a solo selected by the teacher and student based on recommended difficulty
1.12level published by MMEA. The solo will be performed unaccompanied and a maximum of
1.13five minutes may be submitted; and
1.14• performing the Band Etude posted on the MMEA Web site; and
1.15WHEREAS, Miles Klotz of Zumbrota was able to pass the audition and be named to the
1.16All-State Band; and
1.17NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.18congratulates Miles Klotz of Zumbrota on being named to the All-State Band.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Miles Klotz.
