1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Lane Coffman on receiving the 2023 Star of Life Award from the Minnesota
1.3Ambulance Association.
1.4WHEREAS, the Minnesota Ambulance Association was created in 1960 to promote
1.5excellence and quality in the ambulance industry in Minnesota; and
1.6WHEREAS, the organization created the Star of Life Award to recognize paramedics, EMTs,
1.7dispatchers, and other EMS professionals who have resuscitated a patient, improved public health,
1.8had a positive impact in the community, or shown exceptional care and compassion; and
1.9WHEREAS, Lane Coffman began his career as an EMT in 2015, achieving his paramedic
1.10status in 2018. He has worked as a paramedic and field training officer for Mayo Clinic Ambulance
1.11since 2019; and
1.12WHEREAS, Lane is known for going above and beyond in his role as a paramedic and
1.13always treats his patients and coworkers with care and compassion; and
1.14WHEREAS, Lane's positive attitude and dedication exemplifies what being a paramedic is
1.15all about. His role as a field training officer has allowed Lane to demonstrate his outstanding
1.16leadership qualities while training and instilling confidence in new EMTs; and
1.17WHEREAS, in his free time Lane enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors. He
1.18also volunteers for another ambulance service; and
1.19NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.20congratulates Lane Coffman on receiving the 2023 Star of Life Award from the Minnesota
1.21Ambulance Association.
1.22BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.23enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.24Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Lane Coffman.
