SB 1407 - Currently, health benefit plans are required to provide coverage for low protein modified food products, as defined by law, recommended by a physician for individuals with phenylketonuria (PKU) or certain inherited diseases, provided that the patient is under 6 years of age. This act requires coverage regardless of the patient's age.
