SB 569 - Under current law, a member of the Highway Patrol shall be subject to removal after a formal charge has been filed in writing by the Superintendent of the Highway Patrol and a finding by the board for the removal or suspension of the member of the patrol. This act repeals the word "finding" and replaces it with "recommendation" by the board.
Additionally, this act provides that the board shall recommend to the Superintendent what discipline, if any, shall be imposed and the orders of the Superintendent shall be obeyed by the members of the patrol who shall be subject to dismissal or to suspension, fine, reduction in rank, or disciplinary transfer.
