AN ACT

To amend chapter 9, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the designation of animal rescue week.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 9, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 9.181, to read as follows: 

            9.181. The first week of August each year shall be designated as "Animal Rescue Week" in Missouri. The citizens of this state are encouraged to participate in activities and events designed to create awareness regarding animal rescue, educate and encourage the adoption of rescued animals, and create a humane environment for all pets and animals throughout the state, including the importance of spaying and neutering animals.
