AN ACT

To amend chapter 67, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to plumbing codes.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 67, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 67.270, to read as follows:

            67.270. Effective August 28, 2012, the governing body of each county and municipality in this state shall adopt, by ordinance, a plumbing code that has equivalent or higher standards than the uniform plumbing code, as published by the international association of plumbing and mechanical officials, and as amended. Any county or municipality may adopt such code, or any amendment to such code, by reference as permitted under section 67.280.
