House Bill 1037

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE COMMISSION ON WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE LOUISIANA CONSERVATION COMMISSION TO PROVIDE RECIPROCITY OF HUNTING AND FISHING LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS TO PERSONS SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks may negotiate with the Louisiana Conservation Commission to effectuate a reciprocity agreement providing that the hunting and fishing licenses requirements and the rules and regulations governing hunting and fishing in the public fresh and salt waters of Mississippi as applicable to persons who are sixty-five (65) years of age and older shall be acceptable and recognized by the participating commissions when hunters or fisherman hold a current license issued by the commission of the state in which he is domiciled, when engaged in hunting or fishing in this state or Louisiana; however, reciprocity shall only apply if an agreement is reached by the commission with the Louisiana Conservation Commission.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
