House Bill 1212

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE SALE OF ANIMALS ON PUBLIC ROADWAYS; TO PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or offer for sale any animal on or beside any public highway, street or road or from any motor vehicle thereon.  Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined no more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
