House Bill 1430
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF COAHOMA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO CERTAIN ROAD IMPROVEMENT CONTRACTS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE CONTRACTS MAY EXTEND BEYOND 30 DAYS FROM THE TERMINATION AND END OF THE TERM OF OFFICE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AWARDING THE CONTRACTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Coahoma County, Mississippi, is authorized, in its discretion, to receive competitive bids and enter into the following construction contracts:
(a) Moon Lake Scenic Overview (Project No. STP-0052-00(011)LPA);
(b) Moon Lake Bike Trail (Project No. STP-0014-00(015)LPA);
(c) Highway 316 bridge replacement(s) (SAP 14 80);
(d) Jonestown Bypass (DRA-0014-00(13)LPA106097-801000);
(e) Johnson Bridge (BR 1609 1 B);
(f) Jonestown Main Street (MS 097 014 3 B); and
(g) Town of Coahoma Drainage (MS 097 014 2 B).
(2) The Board of Supervisors of Coahoma County may enter into contracts as authorized in this section for any length of time as may be determined by the board of supervisors regardless of whether the contracts may extend beyond thirty (30) days from the termination and end of the term of office of the members of the board of supervisors awarding the contracts.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
