AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LEE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONSTRUCT OR ACQUIRE A COUNTY JAIL ANYWHERE WITHIN THE COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 19-7-1, 17-5-1 and 25-1-99, Mississippi Code of 1972, or any other provisions of law to the contrary, the Board of Supervisors of Lee County, Mississippi, is authorized, in its discretion, to construct or acquire a county jail anywhere within the county.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
