House Bill 1507
AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 63-21-21, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT IN CASES WHERE THE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE OF TITLE TO A MOTOR VEHICLE OR A MOBILE HOME IS DELIVERED TO A LIENHOLDER, A DUPLICATE CERTIFICATE OF TITLE SHALL BE MAILED TO THE OWNER UPON THE REQUEST OF THE OWNER; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 63-21-21, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
63-21-21. The certificate of title shall be mailed to the first lienholder named in it or, if none, to the owner. If the original certificate of title is delivered to a lienholder, the department shall, upon the request of the owner, mail a nontransferable duplicate certificate of title * * * to the owner * * *.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
