House Bill 1625
AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF BOONEVILLE, MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING PEDESTRIAN TRAVEL IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT IN DOWNTOWN BOONEVILLE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2016.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the City of Booneville, Mississippi, for the purpose of improving pedestrian travel in the Historic District in Downtown Booneville, as described in Section 2 of this act, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015, and ending June 30, 2016 $ 1,247,410.00.
SECTION 2. (1) The money appropriated in Section 1 of this act shall be expended by the City of Booneville on a project to improve pedestrian travel through eleven (11) intersections in the Historic District in Downtown Booneville by means of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant pedestrian bulbs, reinforced concrete crosswalks, intersection lighting, sidewalk repairs, ADA parking, and signage.
(2) None of the money appropriated in Section 1 of this act may be expended by the City of Booneville until the city has committed and made available not less than the sum of Four Hundred Fifty-nine Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty-five Dollars ($459,955.00) for expenditure on the project described in subsection (1) of this section.
SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2015.
