AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO SHANNON B. OATIS OF HARRISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Shannon B. Oatis of Harrison County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction for the crime of Uttering a Forgery in Harrison County, Mississippi, with three (3) years probation, which was revoked on January 11, 1999, for the crime of Uttering a Forgery and False Pretense in Harrison County with two (2) years to serve in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The charges ran concurrently. He was released on April 27, 2000, and discharged on July 15, 2000. On September 8, 2003, he was sentenced for the crime of credit card fraud to serve six (6) months followed by two (2) years probation. Shannon Oatis was released to probation on March 12, 2004, and discharged on May 3, 2006.
The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
