House Bill 1762
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS OF CHICKASAW AND CLAY COUNTIES TO RECEIVE CERTAIN FUNDS FROM THE CHUQUATONCHEE CONSOLIDATED DRAINAGE DISTRICT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Boards of Supervisors of Chickasaw and Clay Counties are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to receive funds in the approximate amount of Three Hundred Forty-four Thousand Dollars ($344,000.00) from the nonoperational Chuquatonchee Consolidated Drainage District. From such funds, Chickasaw County shall receive Seventy-seven and forty-eight hundredths percent (77.48%) of the funds and Clay County shall receive Twenty-two and fifty-two hundredths percent (22.52%) of the funds.
(2) The funds received by each county, as authorized under this section, shall be solely utilized for the repair and cleaning out the channel of Chuquatonchee Creek and for repair of the bridges and road across such creek.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
