AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARSHALL COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TO CERTAIN QUALIFIED CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS HAVING A VALID AND CURRENT 501(C)(3) DESIGNATION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Marshall County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute, from any available funds of the county, a total annual amount not to exceed Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00) to a qualified charitable organization having a valid and current 501(c)(3) designation such as any or all of the following entities that operate food pantries:
(a) North Mississippi Community Research Training and Development, Inc.;
(b) Hearts and Hands;
(c) Hearn Grove Church;
(d) Mt. Zion Church;
(e) Habitat for Humanity; and
(f) Davis Temple Church of the Living God.
(2) Funds contributed by the county to any or all of entities prescribed under this section shall solely be utilized for the operation of such entities' food pantries.
(3) This section shall stand repealed from and after July 1, 2020.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
