House Bill 539
AN ACT TO REQUIRE THAT ANY INCREASE IN WORKERS' COMPENSATION INSURANCE PREMIUM MAY NOT BE MORE THAN FIVE PERCENT OVER THE COURSE OF ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) For any policy of workers' compensation insurance issued or renewed in the state on or after July 1, 2014, any increase in premium may not be more than five percent (5%) over the course of any 12-month period.
(2) The Workers' Compensation Commission shall be authorized to promulgate rules and regulations necessary for the implementation and enforcement of this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2014.
