House Bill 634
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO KEEP PHOTOGRAPHS OF EVIDENCE IN LIEU OF KEEPING PHYSICAL EVIDENCE IF THE INTEGRITY OF THE EVIDENCE WILL NOT BE JEOPARDIZED; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Law enforcement agencies are authorized to keep photographs of evidence in lieu of keeping physical evidence if such photographs will not jeopardize the integrity of the use of the evidence in any legal proceeding. Law enforcement agencies shall consult with the appropriate prosecutors regarding any evidence that will be photographed to determine whether the integrity of the evidence will be jeopardized in any way.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
