House Bill 829

AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 11-61-1, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972,  WHICH IS THE MISSISSIPPI RELIGIOUS FREEDOM RESTORATION ACT; TO REPEAL SECTIONS 11-62-1 THROUGH 11-62-19, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH ARE THE PROTECTING FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE FROM GOVERNMENT DISCRIMINATION ACT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 11-61-1, Mississippi Code of 1972, which is the Mississippi Religious Freedom Restoration Act, is repealed.

     SECTION 2.  Sections 11-62-1, 11-62-3, 11-62-5, 11-62-7, 11-62-9, 11-62-11, 11-62-13, 11-62-15, 11-62-17 and 11-62-19, Mississippi Code of 1972, which are the Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act, are repealed.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2021.
