House Bill 947
AN ACT TO MAKE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM THE STATE GENERAL FUND TO THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO BE USED FOR THE STATEWIDE LITTER PREVENTION PROGRAM; TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH FUNDS MAY ONLY BE SPENT ON FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APPROVED AND DISBURSED BY KEEP MISSISSIPPI BEAUTIFUL, INC.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums appropriated to the department, the following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Mississippi Department of Transportation to be used for the Statewide Litter Prevention Program, for the period beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2023............................................$5,000,000.00.
SECTION 2. The funds appropriated under Section 1 of this act may only be spent on financial assistance approved and disbursed by Keep Mississippi Beautiful, Inc., in accordance with Section 65-1-165(f).
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2022.
