A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE KOSSUTH HIGH SCHOOL AGGIES FOOTBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH BRIAN KELLY ON THEIR OUTSTANDING 2011 WINNING SEASON.
WHEREAS, the Kossuth High School Aggies, led by Head Coach Brian Kelly, had an outstanding winning season, finishing with a 10-0 record in their regular season and a 12-1 record overall; and
WHEREAS, Kossuth defeated Baldwyn High School, Corinth High School, Hamilton High School, Tishomingo County High School, Mooreville High School, Belmont High School, Booneville High School, Ripley High School, Alcorn Central High School and Holly Springs High School; and
WHEREAS, having such an incredible regular season, Kossuth went on to play the Palmer High School Dragons in a playoff game and defeated Palmer with a final score of 25-8; and
WHEREAS, continuing on in the playoffs, Kossuth faced the Mooreville High School Troopers once again, repeating their regular season performance with a victory of 21-17 over Mooreville; and
WHEREAS, Coach Kelly led his Aggies to a final playoffs game against the Charleston High School Tigers to finish out the Aggies' season with a 12-1-0 record; and
WHEREAS, the roster of the 2011 Kossuth High School Football Team includes: Cade Armstrong, Jay Vanderford, David Gibson, Zack Cooper, Stegan Smith, Denzel Miller, Matthew Stewart, Jacob Meeks, Connor Wilbanks, Devin Sowell, Alan Spencer, Tyler Jones, Weston Bobo, Tyler Switcher, Heath Wood, Austin Crum, Evan Cooper, Blake Cain, Hagan Talley, Blake Holley, Briley Shadburn, Austin Emerson, Dylan Rider, Joseph Moreland, John Martin, Chase Settlemires, Tyler Pittman, Noah Richardson, Mack Mitchell, Cullen Arnold, Garret Mancel, Chris Walker, Brett Holley, Nathan Morelock, Nathan Rhodes, Antonio Moore, Logan Hall, Jason Nichols, Bruce Sanders, Will Roberson, Austin Scott, Joseph Holt, Blake Mills, Tyler Martin, Jordan Elam, Hunter Lafever, Hunter Kelly, Emmanuel Longoria, Dillon Hughes, Colton Bain and Ty Dickson; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize outstanding student athletes, such as the Kossuth High School Aggies Football Team, who bring honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Kossuth High School Aggies Football Team and Head Coach Brian Kelly on their outstanding 2011 season and extend best wishes for continued success in all of their future academic and athletic endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Brian Kelly, Principal Matt Smith and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
