A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE PURVIS HIGH SCHOOL "TORNADOES" CHEERLEADERS FOR PLACING FIRST IN THE MEDIUM VARSITY GAME DAY DIVISION II AT THE 2024 UCA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the spirited Purvis High School "Tornadoes" Cheerleaders reigned supreme in the Medium Varsity Game Day Division II at the 2024 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship, a truly outstanding achievement; and
WHEREAS, this exceptional squad is comprised of the following talented student-athletes: Aubree Allen, Chloe Atkins, Jocelyn Cooper, Summer Farrar, Katelyn Gandy, Laney Harless, Harmonie Johnson, Kennidy Kugler, Jordynn Poole, Hailey Legion, Camdyn Powell, Lila Roberts, Brecklyn Sandridge, Kileigh Schwebel, Madison Terrell, Harper Tynes, Kristen Watts, A'Niyah White and Daisy Wooten; and
WHEREAS, the Tornadoes have been superbly coached and tremendously inspired by Coaches Kristi Nelson and Johnny Taylor, who have broadened the team's knowledge of the sport while refining their skills in execution, and have provided insightful and strategic leadership, which placed the squad on a path to success; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize extraordinary student-athletes, especially those such as the Tornadoes, whose hard work, dedication and positivity bring honor to Purvis High School and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Purvis High School "Tornadoes" Cheerleaders upon placing first in the Medium Varsity Game Day Division II at the 2024 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Purvis High School "Tornadoes" Cheerleaders and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
