A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE EAST WEBSTER HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BOWLING TEAM AND COACH BOO JONES ON WINNING THE 2013 MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION CLASS I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the East Webster High School Boys Bowling Team and Coach Boo Jones concluded an impressive 2012-2013 season that culminated with the team winning the 2013 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class I State Championship; and

WHEREAS, the East Webster High School Boys Bowling Team displayed a dominating performance in winning the MHSAA Class I State Championship, with the following team members: Austin Cunningham, Austin Raybourne, Brett Brock, Dustin Emfinger, Joel Naron, Randy Hooper, Scott Winfield and Zach Wylie; and

WHEREAS, after sweeping the regional tournament in Tupelo, Mississippi, the Wolverines demonstrated their skills, abilities and mental strength in Jackson at the state championship, facing the East Union High School Boys Bowling Team in the championship round and taking it all the way to the fifth game winning 3-2; and

WHEREAS, defending their state championship title from last year, the MHSAA Class I State Champions Bowling Team invested a substantial amount of hard work and discipline in winning the state championship again this year; and

WHEREAS, the team bowled an average of 179 in the state tournament, with Brett Brock leading the team with an average of 195; and

WHEREAS, turning young boys into men, the East Webster High School's bowling program's future is bright with Coach Boo Jones at the helm bolstered with the guidance and support of the boys' local community; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize a superb group of student athletes such as East Webster High School Boys Bowling Team, who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the East Webster High School Boys Bowling Team and Coach Boo Jones for winning the 2013 Mississippi High School Activities Association Class I State Championship and extend best wishes to the team members and coach for continued success in all of their future athletic and academic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to East Webster High School, Coach Boo Jones, each member of the team and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
