WHEREAS, he was a hard worker who provided for his family professionally by working at Andrew Jackson Life; and

WHEREAS, an avid boating enthusiast, Mr. Ellis frequently hosted his friends aboard his Chandeleur boat, the American Beauty, and enjoyed competitive racing for the Biloxi Yacht Club in cat boats, fish boats and flying scots; and

WHEREAS, second to his passion for boating was his passion for horses, an affection he developed as a child because he owned them from a very young age and took pride in riding the horses in the Fireman's Day Parade; and

WHEREAS, since his retirement, he spent his days and evenings attending the sporting and extracurricular activities of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, to mourn and cherish his memory, he leaves his children, Glenn and Joseph; his siblings, Richard, Jheri and Berinda; grandchildren, Glenn Jr., Kristy, Jody, Joshua, Jeffery, Kyle and Cole; and
