A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE LAKE HIGH SCHOOL HORNETS FOOTBALL TEAM AND THEIR COACHES FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2013 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION REGION 5 CLASS 2A DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Lake High School Hornets Football Team finished the 2013 season with an outstanding record of 11 wins and one loss, culminating with winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association Region 5 Class 2A District Championship; and
WHEREAS, the Hornets went through the regular season unbeaten, and were ranked #5 in Class 2A in The Clarion Ledger's final poll; and
WHEREAS, the Lake Hornets have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Jeff Breland and Assistant Coaches Steven McGee, Jake Nester, Zack Robinson, Guy Harris and Freeman Jimison, who have broadened the Hornets' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and
WHEREAS, the Hornets' roster is comprised of the following players: Tyler Viverette, Savon Ledbetter, Chris Johnson, Jawuan Bell, Jay Johnston, Jay Jimison, Josh Spivey, Trevan Ickom, Jarquez Gray, Jacartius Plummer, Kevin Garcia, Antonio Johnson, Levi Culpepper, Brandon Sullivan, Matt Mitchell, Ladarrius Jennings, D.J. Warnsley, Willie Jones, Donovan Chapman, Keidrick Jones, Rodney Davis, D'Marquis Peterson, Logan LeBlanc, Adam Smith, Jordan Adcox, Andrew Smith, Bryson Luke, John Spivey, JoJo Grimes, Jesse Alford, Jalone Wilson, Javonte Body, Jemar Nunley, Chase Denson, Dalton Hollingsworth, Lucas Bates, Tyler Bell, Trevor Alexander, William Pace, Lance Wilkerson, Zack Emmons, Michael Johnson, Jamorris Pickens, Travarius Hughes, Antonio Berry, Dorrell McGee, Latravious McClendon, Austin Tillman, Christian Bounds, M.J. Morehead and LaRodrick Lyles; and
WHEREAS, the Hornets have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coaches and bring honor to Lake High School; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Lake High School Hornets Football Team and their coaches for their outstanding 2013 season and for winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association Region 5 Class 2A District Championship, and extend best wishes for success in all of their future academic and athletic endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Lake High School Hornets Football Team, Head Coach Jeff Breland and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
