Senate Bill 2099

AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 63-3-1217, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROHIBIT PASSENGERS UNDER THE AGE OF 16 ON MOTORCYCLES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The following shall be codified as Section 63-3-1217, Mississippi Code of 1972:

     63-3-1217.  No child under the age of sixteen (16) shall be a passenger on a motorcycle.  Violation of this section shall be deemed a violation of the traffic regulations and rules of the road and punishable as provided by Section 63-9-11.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2014.
