Senate Bill 2479

AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 25-3-39.3, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE COMPENSATION OF SPECIAL ASSISTANT, ASSISTANT AND DEPUTY ATTORNEYS GENERAL SHALL BE FIXED BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The following shall be codified as Section 25-3-39.3, Mississippi Code of 1972:

     25-3-39.3.  The compensation of Special Assistant, Assistant and Deputy Attorneys General shall be fixed by the Attorney General and shall be exempt from the provisions of Section 25-3-39(2).

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2014.
