AN ACT TO CREATE THE MISSISSIPPI NATIONAL GUARD STATE ACTIVE DUTY FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSE OF STATE ACTIVE DUTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created in the State Treasury a special fund to be known as the Mississippi National Guard State Active Duty Fund for the purpose of defraying the expense of State Active Duty. Upon the call to State Active Duty by the Governor of the State of Mississippi, the Mississippi Military Department may receive monies from the State General Fund not to exceed Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000.00) to defray the expense of such duty. The Mississippi Military Department will reimburse the State General Fund for the actual monies expended upon receipt of payments from the Federal Emergency Management and/or Mississippi Emergency Management Agency. Any unexpended balances of this fund at the end of the fiscal year shall not lapse into the State General Fund but shall be available for expenditure.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2013.
