AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 19-3-87, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO AUTHORIZE MEMBERS OF THE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO BE DESIGNATED AS "FIRST RESPONDERS" UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF SIX HOURS OF THE ACTIVE COURSEWORK OF THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY INDEPENDENT STUDY PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 19-3-87, Mississippi Code of 1972:
19-3-87. Members of the county board of supervisors who have not already been designated as a "first responder" may receive the designation upon successful completion of six (6) hours of the active coursework of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Independent Study Program.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2020.
