Senate Bill 2818
AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 65-3-64, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH DESIGNATED A CERTAIN SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 5 IN BENTON COUNTY AS A SCENIC ROUTE; TO DIRECT THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT TO REMOVE ANY SCENIC SIGNS AND MARKERS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 65-3-64, Mississippi Code of 1972, which designated that segment of Mississippi Highway 5 between U.S. Highway 78 and U.S. Highway 72 as a scenic route, is repealed.
SECTION 2. The Mississippi Department of Transportation is directed to remove any scenic signs and markers along that segment of Mississippi Highway 5 between U.S. Highway 78 and U.S. Highway 72 designated as a scenic route.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
