Senate Bill 2860
AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ERECT SIGNS ALONG U.S. INTERSTATES AND MISSISSIPPI STATE HIGHWAYS TO INFORM MOTORISTS THAT TEXTING WHILE DRIVING IS ILLEGAL; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect signs along U.S. interstates and Mississippi state highways that inform motorists that texting while driving is illegal in the State of Mississippi.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2017.
